You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, then the account moves to Free. Free includes one workspace, so every other workspace becomes read-only and is deleted after a grace period unless you upgrade or move it.
Who this is for
The Owners of the account, who cancel with Downgrade to Free on Plan & billing. A Billing member cannot cancel: "Only an account owner can cancel the subscription" names the Owners who can.
What happens next
Cancelling ends the subscription at the close of the current billing period, not at once. The confirmation, Move to Free?, gives the date and names the workspaces that become read-only then and the date they would be deleted. Until the period ends, Plan & billing shows the change under A change at the period end, where Cancel scheduled change keeps the plan.
When the account moves to Free:
One workspace stays active. An Owner of the account chooses which, in the confirmation or on the account's Workspaces page under Which workspace stays active on Free. With no choice made, the most recently active workspace stays.
Every other workspace becomes read-only. Each is deleted 30 days after the move unless you upgrade or move it to another account first. When a workspace has been through this within the last 180 days, its new grace is shorter by the days it already used, and never less than 7 days. Export stays open while a workspace is read-only.
Nothing in the workspace that stays active is lost: its projects, keys, translations, glossary and history are all there.
Free's words and its seat and project caps apply. Seats and projects above Free's caps stop accepting new work.
Features above Free stop: the API and webhooks, the in-context editor, the glossary, CDN publishing, and on higher plans Quality mode, AI profiles, single sign-on, SCIM, the audit log and white labelling.
Check CDN publishing before the period ends: if your app reads published locales from the CDN at runtime, it stops receiving them on Free, and serving resumes after an upgrade.
Cancelling during a trial ends the trial on its date instead: trial words stop at once, the plan's features stay until then, and nothing is charged.
Deleting a workspace is a separate action with its own countdown, and it does not cancel the plan.
