The free trial

Starter, Team and Business each come with a 14-day free trial that includes every feature of the plan and a one-time stock of 300,000 trial words.

The Owners and Billing members of an account on Free that has never had a trial or a subscription.

Starting a trial. Pick Starter, Team or Business on Plan & billing and go through checkout with a card. Nothing is charged until the trial ends. The trial is once per account, once per card and once per person, and a prepaid card cannot start one. If no trial can start, checkout says so and nothing is charged.

What the trial includes. Every feature, limit and screen of the plan you are trialling, for 14 days. Plan & billing shows Trial ends with the date.

The trial words. A trial holds 300,000 trial words, the same on every plan. They are a one-time stock: they are not shared out by the length of the trial and they are not topped up at a new cycle. Changing plan during the trial leaves the stock as it is. The account's Usage page shows Trial words left, and the cycle's words are spent first, then the trial words, then any welcome words left.

If the words run out before the trial ends, the plan's features stay. What still translates is any welcome words left, and this cycle's Free words again once the words reset. Words beyond the trial are not sold: usage beyond the plan starts with the first paid cycle. The plan's full allowance starts when the trial converts, or at once if an Owner or Billing member chooses Start {plan} now on Plan & billing: the card is charged today, the trial ends now, and the plan's allowance opens once the payment goes through.

When the trial ends, it converts to the paid plan and the card is charged. You are emailed before that happens, and a banner names the date, the card and the amount.

Cancelling during the trial ends it on its date: the trial words stop at once, the features stay until then, and nothing is charged.
