Create a workspace for your projects and your team, in an account you own or in a new account of your own.
Who this is for
Anyone. A workspace always belongs to an account, and the person who creates it is an Owner of the account that holds it: they control it through the account rather than through a role in the workspace.
You can create a workspace in any account you own, or in a new account, which makes you an Owner of that account. A new account starts on Free while you own no other account on Free; otherwise it starts on a paid plan. The account's plan decides how many workspaces it holds: Free includes one, and every paid plan has no limit. A workspace waiting to be deleted still counts until it is gone. A Billing member of an account cannot add a workspace to it.
Before you start
If you were invited to an existing workspace, do not create one. Open the private link in the invitation email instead. Creating your own leaves you alone in a workspace nobody else is in.
Steps
On your dashboard, select New workspace.
On the Workspace step, check Which account it belongs to. With more than one account to choose from, pick one; each row names the account and its plan.
Enter the Workspace name. The workspace address below it is a preview, set when the workspace is created.
Select Continue and work through Project, Markets, Team and Strings: the first project, its languages, who to invite and how the strings will arrive.
Select Create workspace.
What happens next
The workspace and its first project are created together, the invitations go out, and you land on the new project's Get started page with a report of what was made. The workspace shows on your dashboard, and as an Owner of its account you can do everything in it.
If it doesn't work
The name is required and cannot be longer than 100 characters, and an account cannot hold two workspaces with the same name. The wizard says so beside the name and offers Open that one.
If an account is full, the wizard names the account, its plan, how many workspaces the plan includes and the one it already holds, with Upgrade the account when you may change its plan.
"You are not an Owner of that account, so it cannot hold a new workspace. Pick another account." means the account you picked is not one you own, for example because you were removed as an Owner of that account in another tab.
