Translate with AI

Fill a language's missing translations with AI, either the whole gap at once or just the rows you picked.

Fill a language's missing translations with AI, either the whole gap at once or just the rows you picked.

Who this is for

Developers, admins and owners. Translators can edit translations but cannot start an AI run.

Before you start

Check the project's glossary and brand voice first if it has them: both are given to the model, and setting them up after a run means re-translating.

Steps

To fill everything missing in a language:

  1. Open the Editor and choose the language.

  2. Select ✦ Translate missing.

To translate specific rows:

  1. Tick the rows you want.

  2. In the bulk bar, select ✦ Translate.

What happens next

The button reads Translating… while the run is going, and a progress card shows how far through it is. Rows fill in as they complete, each landing in the AI translated state.

Strings that have been translated before are reused from translation memory at no cost rather than translated again. Translations that pass the automatic checks and come back confident can be marked as not needing review, so your reviewers only see the ones worth their time; everything else is flagged. Automatic checks always win: a translation with a broken placeholder, the wrong plural forms, or a glossary conflict is always sent to review no matter how confident it was.

Anything you or a teammate has already edited or reviewed is left alone.

If it doesn't work

  • If ✦ Translate missing is disabled, a run is already going, or there is nothing missing in this language.

  • If your plan's AI word allowance is exhausted, the run is refused until the next cycle or until usage-based billing is enabled.
