Remove a teammate

Take someone out of the workspace, ending their access to every project in it.

Take someone out of the workspace, ending their access to every project in it.

Who this is for

Admins, and the Owners of the account that holds the workspace.

Before you start

Removing a person does not revoke the deploy tokens they minted. Tokens are project-owned and keep working. If they created any, revoke those separately.

Steps

  1. Open People for your workspace.

  2. Under Who reaches what, find their row.

  3. Select Remove.

  4. The confirmation names them and says: "They lose access to every project in this workspace straight away. Translations and reviews they have already done keep their name on them."

  5. Select Remove member.

What happens next

They lose access to the workspace and everything in it, a message names who was removed from which workspace, and the removal is recorded in the audit log. They are emailed that they were removed, and the workspace's other admins and the Owners of its account get a security email about it. Their translations and history stay: the record of who did what is not rewritten by someone leaving. Their seat on the account's plan is freed once they reach no other workspace of the account.

If it doesn't work

  • The account's Owners have no Remove: they are listed under Account Owners, not in Who reaches what, because they reach every workspace through the account. An Owner of the account removes them on the account's Owners & billing members page, which refuses to remove the last of the account's Owners.

  • If there is no Remove on someone's row, you cannot remove people from this workspace.
