Add a glossary term

Pin a term so every translation of it comes out the same, in every language.

Pin a term so every translation of it comes out the same, in every language.

Who this is for

Developers, admins and owners.

Steps

  1. Open the project's Glossary.

  2. Select Add term.

  3. In Add glossary term, enter the Source term: the word or phrase as it appears in your source language.

  4. Optionally add Notes explaining the term, which translators see.

  5. Tick case sensitive if capitalisation is part of the term.

  6. Save.

What happens next

The term takes effect straight away: it is given to the AI on the next translation, it is enforced by the quality checks, and it appears in the editor's context panel for every string that contains it.

Adding a term does not retranslate what you already have. Run a quality check to find existing translations that conflict with it.

If it doesn't work

  • If Add term is not offered, you do not have permission to manage the glossary in this project.
