Import from another localization tool

Bring your projects, keys and existing translations across from Lokalise, Phrase or Crowdin.

Bring your projects, keys and existing translations across from Lokalise, Phrase or Crowdin.

Who this is for

Owners and admins: the import can create a project.

Before you start

You need a read API token from the tool you are leaving. A read token is enough; the import never writes back to it.

Steps

  1. Open Import for your workspace. The page is headed Switch to transglot.

  2. Under 1. Connect your source tool, choose Lokalise, Phrase or Crowdin.

  3. Paste the token into API token: the box reads "Paste a read token from your source tool". Use the reveal button beside it if you want to check what you pasted.

  4. Continue to 2. Pick a project to import and choose one of the projects the token can see.

  5. Under Import into, pick A new project or one of your existing projects.

  6. Select Start import.

What happens next

3. Import shows live progress: "this runs in the background", so you can leave the page. When it finishes it reports how many keys were imported and across how many languages.

Your prior translations arrive as real, human-authored strings. Nothing you bring over is treated as machine output, and nothing is overwritten by AI on the way in.

Past runs are listed at the bottom of the page.

If it doesn't work

  • If the token is rejected, check it is a token for the tool you selected and that it has read access to the projects you want.

  • "No imports yet" simply means this workspace has not run one before.
